Working with the couples on general relationship difficulties;
crises resulting from particular experiences or changes in circumstances - such as affairs, illnesses, bereavements, redundancies, fertility problems etc. or on-going problems - such as communication difficulties, constant rows, general feelings of growing apart, gradual reduction in closeness/affection, simply a desire to make the relationship better, not knowing whether to end a relationship etc.

Working with couples on sexual problems; including lack of desire, painful intercourse, erection difficulties, difficulties reaching orgasm, sexual addictions, lack of sexual knowledge or confidence, sexual communication difficulties within the couple, fertility issues, changes in the sexual relationship resulting from one partner's illness or surgery, gender identity issues, impacts of previous bad sexual experiences or sexual abuse.

My professional approach is a combination of psychodynamic and behavioural; this means that I can work with underlying issues that might cause or maintain the problem (influenced by the clients' backgrounds/ earlier experiences) as well as in the present, with behavioural programmes to help the couple change their ways of relating. The balance of these approaches is dictated by the nature and duration of the problem and the preferences of the clients.
